As the 2021-2022 school year comes to an end, we look back over the year at all of the learning opportunities that were offered to our students. We recognize that the pandemic required us to shift our procedures for some activities like Get the Scoop but we were happy to at least be able to have our families visit before school, even if we had to assign different nights. We were faced with many challenges however, students, staff and parents were able to overcome the obstacles and have a successful year of learning. We want to thank our parent community for your continued support and look forward to having everyone back in the school next year for the full year.
Just a reminder for all parents, the Whitecourt Central School office opens at 8:15 am on August 24, 2022. Mrs. Pierce will be able to answer any questions you may have at that time.
We will be welcoming the students back on a staggered entry schedule as follows:
Thursday, September 1, 2022 - Grade 3 students ONLY
Friday, September 2, 2022 - Grade 4 and 5 students ONLY
Monday, September 5, 2022 - NO SCHOOL - LABOUR DAY
Tuesday, September 6, 2022 - All students Grades 3, 4 and 5 attend - full day
This time of year is rewarding but also difficult. We see how much our students have grown and matured over the 10 months of school. They have blossomed into very responsible and inquisitive individuals. We must also take this opportunity to say thank you to our Grade 5 Eagles, who have set wonderful examples for their peers throughout the year. We know you will do great things at Percy Baxter. Our Grade 3 and 4 students will be back a little bit older and wiser come September and we will be able to welcome our new Grade 3’s to their new adventure. It’s an exciting time!!!
We hope that all of our WCS families have a wonderful summer. For those students and families not returning to WCS in the fall, good luck on your new adventure.
More information regarding start up and Get the Scoop will be posted to our Facebook page in August. The staff and students at WCS hope that everyone has a safe and fun filled summer. Enjoy the weather and explore as many new, exciting opportunities as you can. We can’t wait to hear all about them in September!
